National Longhouse, Ltd. is a
not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to strengthen
parent-child relationships in a manner that is based upon
Christian ideology. We service communities with our
NATIONAL LONGHOUSE® programs
which are designed specifically
for one-on-one parent-child interaction within a group
setting. Each program helps build inter-family, communal,
and spiritual relationships through shared, structured
activities. We integrate a Native American theme which
serves as a common level of interest for parent and child
as well as providing an educational tool for casual introduction
to Native American culture.
Besides administrating our national programs, we serve as a
national resource center for all parent-child programs. We
provide supplementary support with parent-child programing concepts,
news, history, ideas for games, crafts,
stories, songs, program vendor listings, and archiving of other
helpful information.

Our administration for National Longhouse serves as a
hub for linear and non-linear inter-program communication, support,
and resourcing between our national,
regional,
and local levels.
Now fully independent, National Longhouse, Ltd. once grew as a subsidiary of
Lighthouse, Inc. . . a nondenominational, independently operated, 501 (c)(3) nonprofit
organization. Since 1982, Lighthouse has provided food, clothing, and ministry
to the children and inner-city families of greater Cleveland with its
Heaventrain Program. It works closely with
the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority in developing programs that provide education,
children & youth mentoring, leadership, and training.
