Our National Chief Don Bittala has announced that the 2013 National Longhouse Annual Meeting will be held on Friday, May 3rd to Sunday, May 5th at Camp Y-Noah in Clinton, Ohio. There will be a limited number of parent/child camping opportunities available to each longhouse in addition to their meeting delegates. Camp activities and amenities will be available as well as a special Saturday evening performace by Muskogee Creek Native American Jim Sawgrass.

New Member for the Native American Council
We are pleased to announce that Jim Sawgrass is our newest member to the Native American Council (NAC). Mr. Sawgrass is a Muskogee Creek Indian and a professional Native American performer whose live shows have been complimented by appearances in television and historical films. The Native American Committee advises the NATIVE SONS AND DAUGHTERS PROGRAMS ℠ on use of the Native American theme and leads in the development of educational resource material pertaining to First Nation history, beliefs, and rituals.
Election Results for the National Council of Officers
Our NATIVE SONS AND DAUGHTERS® election for the National Council of Officers (NCO) was held on May 19, 2012. The results are as follows:
National Chief — Don Bittala (Crooked River Longhouse)
National Assistant Chief — Brian Quirk (Timucuan Federation)
National Tally Keeper — Keith Armstrong (Timucuan Federation)
National Wampum Bearer — Kenn Synek (Cuyahoga Valley Longhouse)
Native American Council Chairman (NAC) — (open)
A new election process was successfully implemented and is expected to be repeated in 2014.
